أعلنت بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في السودان أن سفراء دول الاتحاد الاوروبي المعتمدين والمقيمين في الخرطوم طلبوا من السلطات السودانية السماح لهم بزيارة جنوب دارفور في شهر نوفمبر القادم. أضافت البعثة أن الغرض من الزيارة السنوية المشتركة لسفراء دول الاتحاد الاوروبي هو التعرف على التطورات السياسية والتنموية والأوضاع الإنسانية في جنوب دارفور. حيث يتضمن جدول أعمال الدبلوماسيين الأوروبيين لقاءات مع مسؤولي الحكومة المحلية والأمم المتحدة والوكالات الدولية النشطة في الولاية.
وأضافت بعثة الاتحاد الاوروبي أن الدبلوماسيين الاوربيين سيزوروا عددا من المشروعات الإنسانية والإنمائية في جنوب دارفور والتى تهدف الى استعادة السلام، وحماية المدنيين وتقديم الدعم للنازحين.
وصرح السفير توماس يوليشني ، رئيس بعثة الاتحاد الاوروبي في السودان أن الوضع في دارفور مصدر اهتمام دائم للاتحاد الاوروبي. وأضاف أن تعزيز اجراءات السفر الى ولايات دارفور سيزيد من دعم الجهات المانحة حيث الاحتياجات المتزايدة للمتأثرين من القتال وزيادة الاشتباكات القبلية.
وأضاف السفير توماس يوليشني أن الاتحاد الأوروبي يدين الهجمات من قبل مسلحين مجهولين على قوات حفظ السلام اليوناميد (العملية المختلطة للاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة) والتى تمت في يوم الخميس الماضى 16 أكتوبر قرب كورما، شمال دارفور، حيث قتل ثلاثة من قوات حفظ السلام الإثيوبية. ” وأضاف سفير الاتحاد الاوروبي ان هذا الهجوم يعد الثاني خلال عام واحد.” “نحن نقدم خالص تعازينا لأسر الضحايا، إلى حكومة إثيوبيا وإلى جميع أفراد اليوناميد”. “وأضاف السفير توماس يوليشني ان الاتحاد الأوروبي يدعو حكومة السودان لاتخاذ كافة إلاجراءات للتحقيق في الحادث وتقديم الجناة إلى العدالة”. “إن الهجمات الأخيرة على يوناميد تؤكد الحاجة لتحقيق سلام شامل وجامع في دارفور و تعزيز الحوار الوطني في السودان.
European Ambassadors request permission from the Sudanese authorities to visit Darfur
The Delegation of the European Union to Sudan announced that the resident European Ambassadors in Sudan requested permissions from the Sudanese authorities to visit South Darfur in November.
The purpose of the annual joint mission is to receive first-hand information about the political, development and humanitarian situation in South Darfur. The visit will include meetings with the local government officials, the UN, International Agencies and the locally active civil society representatives.
The Delegation added that the European Union diplomats intend to visit humanitarian and development projects in South Darfur directed towards restoring peace, protection of civilians and support to Internally Displaced People (IDPs).
Ambassador Tomas Ulicny, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Sudan explained to the press that the situation in Darfur remains of great concern to the EU. An improved access for international donors is in the interest of the affected population suffering from fighting, criminal attacks and tribal clashes.
In parallel, Ambassador Tomas Ulicny said “the European Union strongly condemns the attacks by unidentified assailants on the African Union – United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) peacekeepers on Thursday, 16 October near Korma, North Darfur, in which three Ethiopian peacekeepers were killed. This is the second attack with fatal casualties in one year. We offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, to the Government of Ethiopia and to all UNAMID personnel. The European Union calls for swift action to investigate this crime and bring the perpetrators to justice”. The ongoing attacks on UNAMID peacekeepers remind everybody of the need for a comprehensive and inclusive peace in Darfur and across Sudan”. Ambassador Ulicny said.
