صرح السفير جان ميشيل دوموند، رئيس بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في السودان للصحفيين عقب نهاية اجتماع بوزارة الخارجية السودانية بأن المباحثات مع المسؤولين السودانيين كانت “مفتوحة” و “بناءة”.
وقال سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي: “أن تسعة عشر خبير اوروبي في الشؤون الافريقية يزوروا السودان للتعرف على التطورات الجارية في البلاد والمنطقة واطلع الوفد الزائر والذى يضم ممثلين من الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد الأوروبي ومؤسسات الاتحاد الأوروبي على التطورات من قبل فخامة البروفسير ابراهيم غندور وزير الخارجية السوداني و المسؤولين السودانيين في الحكومة، وكذلك. الأحزاب السياسية والقيادات الشبابية والنسائية والدينية والبرلمانية، ورجال الاعمال وقادة المجتمع المدني. وتضمن جدول أعمال الوفد الزائر المصالح المشتركة في الشؤون السياسية والاقتصادية والإنسانية والتنمية وحقوق الإنسان والنزاعات والشؤون الإقليمية “.
وشدد سفير الاتحاد الاوربي “من المهم الحفاظ على حوار سوداني اوربي على مختلف المستويات لمواصلة الجهود من أجل السلام في السودان والمنطقة. من المهم ان يكون الحوار مفتوح وحقيقي وشامل لتحقيق تقدم في العلاقات بين السودان والاتحاد الأوروبي، كما ان الحوار يحتاج إلى إشراك السلطات وكل أصحاب المصلحة السودانية “.
وقال سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي هناك العديد من المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك والتعاون. أن الهجرة كانت مجرد واحد من الموضوعات في جدول الأعمال خلال الاجتماعات السودانية الاوربية. ان الاتحاد الأوروبي يقظ لضرورة تحقيق السلام والاستقرار والديمقراطية واحترام حقوق الإنسان والحريات في السودان. ان الاتحاد الأوروبي يقدر الجهود التي تبذلها الحكومة السودانية مؤخرا ولكن المزيد من الخطوات ضرورية للم شمل وتوحيد كل السودانيين لتحقيق تغيير حقيقي في السودان يمكن أن يشعر به الشعب السوداني في جميع مناطق السودان وخاصة في دارفور، الأزرق النيل وجنوب كردفان.
أعلن السفير جان ميشيل دوموند أن السيد يان فيجل، المبعوث الخاص للاتحاد الأوروبي لتعزيز حرية الدين سيبدأ زيارته للسودان يوم 14 مارس، من أجل تعزيز التسامح الديني والحوار بين الأديان ومعالجة مكافحة التطرف. و تبادل وجهات النظر حول تعزيز التماسك الاجتماعي والتعايش السلمي، وحماية الأقليات الدينية في منطقة القرن الأفريقي.
European Union Ambassador: talks with the Sudanese stakeholders open and constructive
Today, Ambassador Jean-Michel Dumond, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Sudan announced to the journalists after the end of a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the talks with the Sudanese officials were “open” and “constructive”.
The European Union Ambassador said: “Fifteen representatives of the European Union member states for EU policy on Africa are visiting Sudan to deepen their understanding of the ongoing developments in the country and the region. The delegation with a total of 19 visitors from the EU member states and EU institutions was briefed by H.E. Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, Minister of Foreign Affairs and different Sudanese officials, as well as political parties, youth, women, religious, parliamentary, business and civil society leaders. The agenda of the meetings included the common interests in the political, economic, security, humanitarian and development assistance, human rights, conflict and regional affairs.”
Ambassador Jean-Michel Dumond stressed “the importance of maintaining engagement at different levels to continue the efforts for peace in Sudan and the region. Only through open, genuine and comprehensive dialogue we can achieve progress in relations between Sudan and the European Union. This dialogue needs to involve authorities and other Sudanese stakeholders.”
The European Union Ambassador said there are many common areas of interest. Cooperation on migration was just one of the agenda topics during the meetings. The European Union is attentive for realising peace, stability, democratisation, respect to human rights and freedoms in Sudan. The European Union acknowledges the efforts undertaken by the Sudanese government recently but more steps are necessary to include and unite all the Sudanese to achieve a meaningful change in Sudan that can be felt by Sudanese people in all the regions of Sudan, especially in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan.
Ambassador Jean-Michel Dumond announced that Mr. Jan Figel, EU special envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the EU is also starting his visit to Sudan on March 14, to promote religious tolerance and interfaith dialogue and address the fight against extremism. The EU and Sudanese stakeholders will also exchange views about enhancing social cohesion and peaceful coexistence, and protecting religious minorities in the region of the Horn of Africa.
