الجنود في كل شبر من مدينتي
احتكروا الشوارع والبيوت والقصور والقلاع
يطلقون الرصاص في الهواء
كيفما يكون وكيفما يشاء
من غير رادع او داع
يلعبون بالنيران في الخرطوم وام درمان
وكل مدن السودان
يعبثون بالبنادق، يتسلون بالبمبان
يطلقون النار على الجميع…على الانسان والحيوان
الآلات على أكتافهم….
وفي الطريق يوقفونك دونما سبب
ويضربونك ان ابديت شيئاً من عجب
لا تسال عن القانون ولا تحتج بالاخلاق
فهم عالمون بالقانون و هم في غاية الأدب
هم القناصون، يصطادون للترفيه
هم القضاة،
في دقيقة أو دقيقتين،
يكون الحكم قد سري عليك
مصيرك الاعدام
او الزحف على الصخور بركبتيك
لا حاجة للدفاع فباطل دفاعك
وكل ما لديك
لا وقت للمراجعة
اذ يقررون الأمر في ثوان
من غير تسويف ولا توان
لكن البعض منهم طيبون اذ يخيرنوك:
أتريد الرصاصة في رجليك او يديك؟
أو مباشرة على عينيك؟
وعلى كل: سيقتلونك من غير أسف عليك
ثم يرموا بك في رمال المقبرة، بلا عنوان
او يتركوك في العراة نهباً
لترمك الغربان والديدان
واينما ذهبت فالجنود في الأركان
(يزنون بالشوارع التي تحبها
*وبالحدائق الواسعة العيون)
يضاجعون الورد… في وضح النهار
ويقتلعون فسائل الليمون
ثم يسرقون مدينتي وينهبون
ويطلقون النار…
فرحين بهذا الانتصار
الجنود اغتصبوا أمتنا
وأحدثوا في الجسد الجروح
غرزوا الخنجر المسموم في القلوب
وفي صميم الروح
حكمونا بالنار والبارود والحديد
هل اتي الجنود ليكتبوا التاريخ من جديد؟

The troops are everywhere
Playing with fire
In the streets of my town
in the streets of Khartoum and Omdurman
in fact, in all the towns in Sudan
They play the games with the guns,
They shoot at everyone
For mere fun
Machines on their shoulders
They can shoot you down, for no good reason
But to please their fellow soldiers
Happy to carry out all the orders
and disobey the law
They play the judge with grudge
So, in a minute or two,
they can decide on you
On your whole fate,
they do not need to wait,
for you to make your defence
They decide your case
Some are good to give you the options
To shoot you right down on the face
or break your leg or hand
or shooting you between the eyes
But will kill you any way and send your body down,
in the dusty sand, the sand of your own town
The troops are every where
Robbing and looting my town
Rapping the roses in the gardens
And uprooting all plants
They ruled the nation with fire
They are here and everywhere,
Celebrating with joy their victory
As if they are writing the new human history
With their guns, with infantry
And when they sat down to rest,
At the end of the day,
When the kids are out to play,
They would think which school to shoot or loot
The troops have rapped the nation as a whole
And made a hole
