الاستجابة السريعة للجهات المانحة تسيطر علي الانتشار الواسع لوباء الحمى الصفراء
23 يناير 2013، الخرطوم، السودان – تم تطعيم أكثر من ثلاثة ملايين شخص ضد الحمى الصفراء خلال المرحلتين الأولى والثانية من حملة التطعيم التي أجريت بين الأسبوع الأخير من شهر نوفمبر 2012 والأسبوع الأول من يناير 2013 في إقليم دارفور. ومع وصول اللقاحات الإضافية المطلوبة للمرحلة الثالثة من الحملة والتي من المقرر أن تبدأ في 26 يناير 2013، سيتم تطعيم أكثر من نحو مليوني شخص.
استجاب المجتمع الدولي والدول المانحة بشكل إيجابي لنداء الحصول على الدعم لحملات التطعيم في حالات الطوارئ، والذي أطلقته وزارة الصحة الاتحادية ومنظمة الصحة العالمية في نوفمبر عام 2012.
الاحتياجات التشغيلية وكذلك تكاليف اللقاحات للمرحلتين الأولى والثانية من الحملة تم دعمها من قبل إدارة المساعدات الإنسانية والحماية المدنية بالإتحاد الأوروبي، الصندوق المركزي لمواجهة الطوارئ، وحكومة السويد. ويدعم المرحلة الثالثة من الحملة كل من: إدارة المملكة المتحدة للتنمية الدولية والوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية.
المنظمات غير الحكومية الوطنية والدولية دعمت الحملة ايضاً من خلال توفير الدعم التشغيلي المتمثل في الموارد المالية والبشرية.
التطعيم هو التدبير الوحيد الأكثر أهمية لمنع انتشار الحمى الصفراء والتي لا يوجد علاج محدد لها فضلاً عن الرعاية الداعمة الأخرى لعلاج الجفاف والحمى، ونقل الدم عند الحاجة.
حتى الآن، تم الإبلاغ عن أكثر من 840 حالة من حالات الحمى الصفراء، بما في ذلك 171 حالة وفاة. وقد أثر اندلاع الحمي على أكثر من 35 محلية في دارفور.
وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، فإن تقييم مخاطر الحمى الصفراءعلي المستوى الوطني مستمر وذلك لتقييم المخاطر في مناطق أخرى من البلاد وتقييم الحاجة لإجراء حملات تطعيم إضافية ..

Donors prompt response curbs wide spread of yellow fever outbreak
23 January 2013 | Khartoum, Sudan – More than three million people were vaccinated against yellow fever in Darfur during the first and second phases of the vaccination campaign conducted between the last week of November 2012 and first week of January 2013. With the arrival of additional vaccine in Khartoum required for the third phase of the campaign, around two million more will be vaccinated during the third phase scheduled to start on 26 January 2013.
The international community and donor countries responded favourably to the appeal for support launched by the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in November 2012 for the emergency vaccination campaigns.
The operational requirements as well as costs of vaccines for Phases I and 2 of the emergency vaccination campaign were supported by the European Commission Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO), the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), and the Government of Sweden. The United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are supporting phase 3 of the campaign.
National and international non-government organizations also supported the campaign by providing operational support through financial and manpower resources.
Vaccination is the single most important measure for preventing spread of yellow fever. There is no specific treatment for yellow fever other than supportive care to treat dehydration and fever, and blood transfusion if and when needed.
To date, over 840 cases of yellow fever have been reported, including 171 deaths. The outbreak has affected more than 35 localities in Darfur.
In addition, the national yellow fever risk assessment is ongoing to further assess the risks in other areas of the country and the need for conducting additional vaccination campaigns.
