تشعر سفارة الولايات المتحدة في السودان بقلق عميق إزاء استمرار عمليات اعتقال واحتجاز مئات القادة السياسيين والناشطين والمواطنين العاديين ، والكثير منهم محتجزون في ظروف غير إنسانية ومهينة، ودون الوصول إلى المحامين أو الأسرة.

وتؤمن الولايات المتحدة بحق كل سوداني في التمتع بالحريات الأساسية، بما في ذلك الحق في التجمع السلمي دون توجيه اتهامات. ولا تزال الولايات المتحدة ملتزمة بالعمل مع السودان من أجل إحراز تقدم في عدد من القضايا، ولتشمل حماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات لجميع السودانيين دعما لسودان سلمي وديمقراطي.

U.S. Embassy Statement on Protests in Sudan

Khartoum, Sudan – The United States Embassy in Sudan is deeply concerned by the continued arrests and detentions of hundreds of political leaders, activists and ordinary citizens, many of whom are being held in inhumane and degrading conditions, and without access to lawyers or family.

The United States believes in every Sudanese’s right to enjoy fundamental freedoms, including the rights to peacefully assemble without recrimination. The United States remains committed to working with Sudan for progress on a range of issues, to include protecting human rights and freedoms for all Sudanese, in support of a peaceful and democratic Sudan.
