Joyfully I entered Sudanow Head Office meaning to hand in an article titled ( How to sever the hand of smoking ) .
Accidently the editor – in – Chief , during his morning tour at the magnificent hall that was busy as a bee hive shelf , at a glance he rushed towards me judging that there was something wrong about a person holding a paper looking here and there at a loss.
( Oh , gentleman, how can I help you ) ?!
Without prior thinking I pushed the paper into his hand.
Hurriedly he absorbed the contents and in the same manner he pushed the unfortunate article back unto my hand.
He added briefly and firmly :
( The policy of our magazine is to publish quality works that reflect advancement of Sudan especially at fields of folklore and culture. So we send more copies abroad and locally our customers are foreign diplomatic missions .
Being onvinced by his economical and decisive language I dashed walking outside the grand building.
Along the Street to the bus station l kept knocking hard at the door of my memory.
( The gentleman who I left just now , the practicality of behaving to others , his mannerism , reminded me with a secondary school colleague in the period ranged between 1964 1968 of last century. My guess was true , now I can tell obviously that Mr. ( A- A – A ) From a village located south of the capital of Sudan entered Khartoum University with the highest score in English Language , after had completed his studies at the Faculty of Economics, he joined Journalism and paved his way confidently at that arena, eventually he filled the post of editor – in – chief for the decent and reputed Sudanow Magazine, which at that time gave our country a good image in the eyes of the foreigners .
Mr. A-A-A joined ( UN ) as a translator, served long there , but Iam not sure where is he now, hoping that he is well and good.
