فى إطار جهودها المتواصلة لمعالجة احتياجات المدنيين المتأثرين بالاشتباكات القبلية في شرق دارفور، ساعدت بعثة الاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة في دارفور(اليوناميد) في 18 أغسطس في نقل 300 مدني جواً من الضعين في شرق دارفور إلى أبوكارنكا، حوالى 50 كيلومتراً شمال شرق الضعين. إضافة إلى ذلك، في 21 أغسطس، قدمت البعثة الدعم اللوجستي من خلال نقلها ممثلين لقبيلتي الرزيقات والمعاليا إلى الطويشة بشرق دارفور للمشاركة في التوقيع على اتفاق لوقف العدائيات بشرق دارفور.
وقد ورد أنّ الوضع الحالي في المنطقة نجم عن نزاعات عالقة حول الوصول إلى الموارد المتعلّقة بالأرض نشبت في بداية الشهر الجاري.
إستجابة لذلك، كثفت اليوناميد وجودها ودورياتها وفي 17 أغسطس نقلت 9 جرحى جواً من قرية دولا التي تبعد حوالى 125 كيلومتراً شمال الضعين إلى الفاشر بشمال دارفور لتلقي العلاج.

UNAMID assists in airlifting East Darfur civilians
As part of its ongoing efforts to address the needs of civilians affected in the East Darfur inter-communal clashes, the African Union – United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), assisted in airlifting more than 300 civilians, on 18 August, from El Daein, East Darfur to Abu Karinka, located approximately 50 kilometers northeast of El Daein.
In addition, on 21 August, the Mission provided logistical support by transporting representatives of Rezeigat and Ma’alia tribes to Al Tawisha, North Darfur to participate in the signing of an agreement to cease hostilities in East Darfur.
The current situation in East Darfur was reportedly triggered earlier this month by unresolved disputes over access to land resources.
In response, UNAMID increased its presence and patrolling and airlifted 9 wounded civilians, on 17 August, from Al Dola village, approximately 125 kilometers north of El Daein to El Fasher, North Darfur for medical treatment.
