اصدرت بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في جمهورية السودان بيان بالاتفاق مع كل رؤساء بعثات سفارات دول الاتحاد الاوروبي المعتمدة في السودان وسفارة النرويج اشير فيه الى التالي: تشير بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في جمهورية السودان بقلفها للتقارير الواردة عن قصف جوي تم يومي 1 و 2 مايو 2014 لمنشأة ام الرحمة الطبية في جبال النوبة في جنوب كردفان.
ان بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في جمهورية السودان تذكر بان المستشفيات محمية بموجب القانون الإنساني الدولي لأنها منشآت مدنية يجب حمايتها ، وان عدم التمييز بين الاهداف والمنشآت المدنية والعسكرية يمثل هجوم عشوائي و هو جريمة حرب.
ان بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي تدعو حكومة جمهورية السودان والحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان قطاع الشمال ضرورة تسهيل وصول المساعدات الإنسانية الكاملة إلى السكان المدنيين المتضررين من النزاع دون إبطاء، و ألا تدخر الحكومة والحركة وسعا في المفاوضات الجارية بهدف التوصل إلى تسوية سلمية للنزاع على وجه السرعة في جنوب كردفان والنيل الأزرق والتي تشرف عليها اللجنة الرفيعة المستوى للاتحاد الأفريقي ورئيس الايقاد.
سفارة النرويج تؤيد هذا البيان نفسه.
European Union Delegation concerned on the aerial bombardments of civilian objects in South Kordofan
The Delegation of the European Union to Sudan issued the following statement in agreement with the EU Heads of Mission in Sudan
The Delegation of the European Union to Sudan noted with concern the reports of aerial bombardments on 1 and 2 May 2014 of the Mother of Mercy medical facility in the Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan.
The Delegation of the European Union to Sudan recalls that under international humanitarian law, hospitals are protected civilian objects, and that failing to make the distinction between military objectives and the civilian population and objects represents an indiscriminate attack and is a war crime.
The EU Delegation calls on the Government of Sudan and the SPLM-N to facilitate full humanitarian access to the conflict-affected civilian populations without delay and to spare no effort in the ongoing negotiations with the aim of speedily reaching a peaceful settlement of the conflict in South Kordofan and Blue Nile, under the facilitation of the African Union High Level Panel and the Chairperson of IGAD.
