يأسف الممثل الخاص للأمين العام ورئيس بعثة الأمم المتحدة المتكاملة لدعم المرحلة الانتقالية في السودان (اليونيتامس) ويُدين مقتل متظاهر شاب بالرصاص يوم أمس في منطقة شرق النيل بالخرطوم. إن استخدام الذخيرة الحية ضد المتظاهرين أمر غير مقبول ويتعارض مع التزامات السودان المتعلقة بحقوق الإنسان.
يشير الممثل الخاص للأمين العام ورئيس يونيتامس إلى بيان وزارة الداخلية وما ورد فيه من تدابير قانونية تم اتخاذها ضد ضابط الشرطة المسؤول، ويحث السلطات على إجراء تحقيق سريع وشفاف في هذه الوفاة، وجميع إنتهاكات حقوق الإنسان الأخرى التي وقعت في سياق الاحتجاجات منذ 25 أكتوبر 2021 ومحاسبة المسؤولين عنها.
يدعو الممثل الخاص للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة ورئيس بعثة اليونيتامس السلطات إلى اتخاذ تدابير عاجلة لوقف الاستخدام المفرط للقوة ضد المتظاهرين.
Statement of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNITAMS – on the death of a young demonstrator in Khartoum
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS) regrets and condemns the killing of a young demonstrator, who was shot dead yesterday in the Sharq Alnil area of Khartoum. The use of live ammunition against protestors is unacceptable and contravenes Sudan’s human rights obligations.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNITAMS acknowledges the statement by the Ministry of Interior that legal measures have been taken against the police officer responsible and urges the authorities to conduct a prompt, transparent investigation into this death and all other human rights violations that occurred in the context of protests since 25 October 2021 and to hold those responsible accountable.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNITAMS calls upon the authorities to take urgent measures to stop the excessive use of force against protestors.
