السودان: اللجنة الدولية تيسّر تسليم خمسة جنود في دارفور
الخرطوم/ جنيف (اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر) – ساعدت اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر في نقل خمسة أفراد تابعين للقوات المسلحة السودانية بعد أن أفرج عنهم اليوم جيش تحرير السودان الذي يقوده السيد "علي كاربينو"، والذي يمثل إحدى جماعات المعارضة المسلحة في دارفور. وسُلّم الجنود الخمسة إلى السلطات السودانية في مدينة الفاشر بشمال دارفور.
ويقول السيد "جان - كريستوف ساندو"، رئيس بعثة اللجنة الدولية في السودان: "حتى هذه اللحظة من عام 2013، اضطلع موظفو اللجنة الدولية في السودان بتيسير تسليم 78 شخصاً: 37 فرداً من أفراد القوات المسلحة السودانية و36 مدنياً بعد أن أفرجت عنهم جماعات المعارضة المسلحة، وخمسة سجناء حرب من جنوب السودان بعد إفراج الحكومة السودانية عنهم".
ورافق ثلاثة مندوبين تابعين للجنة الدولية الجنود الخمسة المفرج عنهم أثناء نقلهم بعد ظهر هذا اليوم على متن طائرة مروحية إلى مدينة الفاشر. وقبل انطلاق الرحلة، تحدّث مندوبو اللجنة الدولية على انفراد مع هؤلاء الجنود للتأكد من أن نقلهم يجري بمحض إرادتهم. وتستطيع اللجنة الدولية الاضطلاع بدورها الفريد كوسيط محايد بفضل حوارها المنتظم مع السلطات الحكومية ومع مختلف جماعات المعارضة المسلحة.
وتعمل اللجنة الدولية في السودان منذ عام 1978. وقد وسعت نطاق عملياتها في عام 2003 لتشمل إقليم دارفور حيث تساعد الأشخاص الذين يعانون من الآثار المترتبة على النزاع المسلح وأعمال العنف الأخرى.

Sudan: ICRC facilitates handover of five soldiers in Darfur
Khartoum/Geneva (ICRC) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) assisted in the transfer of five Sudanese Armed Forces personnel released today by the Sudan Liberation Army – Ali Karbino (SLA-AK), an armed opposition group in Darfur. The soldiers were handed over to the Sudanese authorities in Al Fashir, North Darfur.
"So far in 2013, ICRC staff in Sudan have facilitated the handover of 78 persons: 37 Sudanese armed forces personnel and 36 civilians released by armed opposition groups, and five South Sudanese prisoners of war released by the Sudanese government," said Jean-Christophe Sandoz, head of the ICRC delegation in Sudan.
Three ICRC delegates accompanied the five soldiers released this afternoon as they were taken by helicopter to Al Fashir. Prior to the journey, they spoke privately with each of the soldiers to make sure they were being transferred of their own free will. The ICRC's regular dialogue with the government authorities and various armed opposition groups enables the organization to play its unique role as a neutral intermediary.
The ICRC has been working in Sudan since 1978. In 2003 it extended its operations to Darfur, where it helps people suffering the effects of armed conflict and other violence.
