تشير التقارير الإخبارية اليومية إلى أن الأمم المتحدة تُدين بشدة الهجمات اللاإنسانية التي تشنها قوات الدعم السريع على المدنيين. وتحثّ الدول التي تُزوّدها بالأسلحة على وقف تدفقها إلى مناطق النزاع. كما تُشير التقارير الإخبارية إلى أن وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية تُطالب بوقف تدفق الأسلحة إلى قوات الدعم السريع في السودان، وتعمل على منع الجهات المسؤولة عن إمدادها من القيام بذلك لوقف القتال. إلا أن لا أحدًا يُبدي استعدادًا لتسمية الطرف أو الأطراف المسؤولة عن هذا التدفق للسلاح. وعندما يسأل الصحفيون المسؤولين الذين يُدلون بهذه التصريحات عن الطرف أو الأطراف الداعمة، يصمتون عن الإجابة. ربما تكون هذه هي الدبلوماسية التي لم نكن نحن على دراية بها، أو ربما هي اللغم المزروع على أرضية الآلية الرباعية، التي يرفض الجيش السوداني إطارها، ربما لإدراكه لعواقبها المحتملة.
هذه الآلية، في شكلها الحالي، قد تُؤدي إلى انفصال غرب السودان، تمامًا كما حدث مع جنوب السودان. من الغريب حقًا أن تكون دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، كداعم وممول، جزءًا من الآلية الرباعية هذه. ولا شك أنها جزء لا يتجزأ من المعاناة التي يكابدها المواطنون السودانيون يوميًا في وطنهم. الإمارات هي المهندس الرئيسي للمسار الجهنمي الذي يسلكه الشعب السوداني حاليًا – نساءً وأطفالًا وشبابًا وشيوخًا ومسنين. ولم يعد الكثير من السودانيين، من مواطنين عاديين إلى مثقفين وأكاديميين، يؤمنون بمصداقية جهود الرباعية، نظرًا لتورط الإمارات في الحرب الدائرة، التي هي ليست سوى غزو أجنبي بمساعدة مرتزقة في حرب استنزاف لا حدود لها.
هذه هي الدولة التي تُجبر السودانيين على إختيار المنفى، وتُشرّدهم داخل وطنهم إلى دول أخرى، وتتركهم تائهين في الصحاري والوديان والسهول. ألا تخجلون من فظاعة هذا القتل، ثم تأتون لتقديم التعازي لأسر الضحايا؟ حقًا، هذا هو عصر العبث بمصير الشعوب الفقيرة، عصر خالٍ من الإنسانية والنزاهة والأخلاق.
يُسجل التاريخ فضل مؤسس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وعلاقته مع السودان وحكامه وشعبه، وكيف أشاد بالشعب السوداني وجهوده في بناء وتوحيد وطنه حتى يومنا هذا. لا نريد هنا أن نناقش شخصية وتاريخ مؤسس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة كأمة موحدة، ولا أن نناقش مساهمات السودانيين والسودانيات في بناء هذا الصرح الذي يفخر به الإماراتيون اليوم، بل نريد أن نكشف عن مصدر هذا الحقد الدفين الذي يكنه حكامها الحاليون للشعب السوداني من خلال كل هذا العدوان الوحشي المتفشي. لنفترض أن صراع الإمارات الحالي موجه ضد تنظيم الإخوان المسلمين في السودان؛ فهل جميع السودانيين أعضاء في تنظيم الإخوان المسلمين؟
لقد طال صمت الشعب الإماراتي تجاه العدوان السافر الذي يتعرض له الشعب السوداني في بلده بشروق شمس كل يوم ومغيبها، وبدعم إماراتي صرف – شاءت الآذان أن تسمعه أم لا تشاء. نسألكم هنا يا شعب الإمارات ولكم أن تخبرونا الجواب: ما هي الجريمة التي إرتكها الشعب السوداني بحقكم وبحق دولتكم حتى يلحق به كل هذا الدمار الممنهج؟ يحرص حكامكم في الإمارات على وحدتها وتقدمها، ولكن هدفهم الأوحد انكشف الآن: تدمير السودان كليا، وتفكيك ما يجمع السودان ويوحد شعبه، وهدم كل ما بُني وأُسس فيه بجهود وطنية خالصة وموارد ذاتية متواضعة.
لا نريد العودة إلى الماضي البعيد، إلى زمن أصدرت فيه مؤسسة الاتحاد الإماراتية، جريدة الإتحاد الإماراتية، إلى جانب مجلتها المحبوبة للأطفال، مجلة “ماجد”. هل ضاعت تلك الفكرة، التي حملت عنوان “مجلة الطفل العربي من الخليج إلى المحيط”، تلك الفكرة الجهنمية القديمة؟ أين ذهب ذلك الحلم الكبير؟ إلى أين اختفى؟ الآن، لا تتجاهل الإمارات أصالة الأمة العربية وهويتها وسبل تطورها فحسب، بل تسعى أيضًا إلى تفكيكها وتدميرها، رافعةً أعلامًا أجنبية مجهولة المصدر ترفرف في سمائها. السودان نموذج مصغر لما يحدث أو قد يحدث في دول الجوار الأخرى، حتى العربية والأفريقية منها، ومن الخليج إلى المحيط.
الإمارات الآن في المكان الذي سعت إليه جاهدة، لكنها لا تصلح لذلك أيضا، فهي تتحول يوميًا من وسيط سلام دائم إلى مسؤول عن جرائم حرب. إن غزو السودان والتطهير العرقي الذي يحدث فيه الآن خير مثال وخير دليل على ذلك. سيأتي يومٌ لا محالة، تُلزم فيه الإمارات بتعويض جميع الأضرار المادية والبشرية الناجمة عن هذا العدوان الغشيم على السودان. وحينها سنقول لها: “اللهم لا شماتة”. نحن نتفهم تمامًا حرص الإمارات، حكومةً وشعبًا، على وحدتها ونهضتها، لكننا لا نفهم حرصها على تفريقنا، وحرصها على تمزيق السودان وتشتيته حتى لا ينهض من جديد ويصبح دولةً ذات شأن بين الأمم.

The UAE’s position: From a permanent peace broker to a partner in war crimes

Daily news reports indicate that the United Nations strongly condemns the inhumane attacks perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against civilians. It urges the countries supplying the RSF with weapons to halt their flow to conflict zones. News reports also indicate that the US Department of Defense is demanding a halt to the flow of weapons to the RSF in Sudan and is working to prevent those responsible for supplying them from doing so in order to stop the fighting. However, no one is willing to name the party or parties responsible for this flow of weapons. When journalists ask the officials making these statements about the supporting party or parties, they remain silent. Perhaps this is diplomacy we were unaware of, or perhaps it is a landmine planted in the ground of the Quartet mechanism, whose framework the Sudanese army rejects, perhaps due to its awareness of its potential consequences.
This mechanism, in its current form, could lead to the secession of western Sudan, just as happened with South Sudan. It is truly strange that the United Arab Emirates, as a supporter and financier, is part of this Quartet mechanism. Undoubtedly, this is an integral part of the suffering endured daily by Sudanese citizens in their homeland. The UAE is the principal architect of the hellish path currently being trodden by the Sudanese people—women, children, youth, the elderly, and the infirm. Many Sudanese, from ordinary citizens to intellectuals and academics, no longer believe in the credibility of the Quartet’s efforts, given the UAE’s involvement in the ongoing war, which is nothing more than a foreign invasion aided by mercenaries in a war of attrition with no end in sight.
This is the country that forces Sudanese people into exile, displacing them within their own country to other nations, leaving them adrift in deserts, valleys, and plains. Are you not ashamed of the enormity of this killing, and then come to offer condolences to the victims’ families? Truly, this is an era of toying with the fate of impoverished peoples, an era devoid of humanity, integrity, and morality.
History records the virtues of the founder of the United Arab Emirates, his relationship with Sudan, its rulers, and its people, and how he praised the Sudanese people and their efforts in building and unifying their nation to this day. We do not intend here to discuss the personality and history of the founder of the UAE as a unified nation, nor to discuss the contributions of Sudanese men and women to building this edifice of which Emiratis are proud today. Rather, we want to uncover the source of this deep-seated hatred harbored by its current rulers towards the Sudanese people, manifested in all this brutal and widespread aggression. Let’s assume that the UAE’s current conflict is directed against the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan; are all Sudanese people members of the Muslim Brotherhood?
The Emirati people have remained silent for too long regarding the blatant aggression to which the Sudanese people are subjected in their own country, day after day, with pure Emirati support – whether they choose to hear it or not. We ask you, the people of the UAE, and we ask you to tell us the answer: What crime has the Sudanese people committed against you and your country to deserve all this systematic destruction? Your rulers in the UAE claim to be committed to Sudan’s unity and progress, but their sole objective has now been exposed: the complete destruction of Sudan, the dismantling of what unites its people, and the demolition of everything built and established through purely national efforts and modest self-generated resources.
We do not wish to return to the distant past, to a time when the UAE’s Al Ittihad Foundation published the Al Ittihad newspaper, alongside its beloved children’s magazine, “Majid.” Has that vision, titled “The Arab Child’s Magazine from the Gulf to the Ocean,” been lost? Where did that grand dream go? Where did it vanish to? Now, the UAE not only ignores the authenticity of the Arab nation, its identity, and its paths to development, but also seeks to dismantle and destroy it, raising foreign flags of unknown origin in its skies. Sudan is a microcosm of what is happening, or what may happen, in other neighboring countries, both Arab and African, from the Gulf to the Ocean.
The UAE is now where it has strived so hard to be, but it is not suited for it either. It is transforming daily from a permanent peace broker into an accomplice to war crimes. The invasion of Sudan and the ongoing ethnic cleansing there are prime examples and clear evidence of this. The day will inevitably come when the UAE will be obligated to compensate for all the material and human damage resulting from this brutal aggression against Sudan. And then we will say to them, “May God protect us from gloating.” We fully understand the UAE’s, both government and people, desire for its unity and progress, but we do not understand its desire to divide us, its desire to tear Sudan apart and scatter it so that it cannot rise again and become a nation of consequence among nations.
