Promptly I was summoned to the Education Office where a disciplinary council was convened under chairmanship of the manager being assisted by two of his aides to investigate about a complaint filed against me by the Ministry of Education.
When I showed up on time at the venue of the trial , the Boss asked solemnly without even bidding me any kind of salutation or due respect :
( Are you aware that the offensive you have committed is against the laws of Civil Service ) ?!
I replied in anger showing an altra feeling of annoyment and discomfort :
( What offensive do you mean , your excellency ) ?!
As if he caught my feeling of uneasiness,
he shouted at the top of his voice :
( Oh , man, don’t you know that the laws of Civil service never permit the Civil Servant to criticise his Superiors, you Published an article on a daily newspaper indicating that the Ministery of Education imposes fees for Health Insurance levied form students of Government Schools all over the country، without any health services being rendered in return ?!
Then he added angrily :
( What do you mean ?! Do you accuse the authorities there of corruption ?! And what is your aim behind raising such kind of arguments ) ?!
Enthusiasticly l stunned his highness by a reply he had never expected or thought of !!..
( See , Boss, we learnt from our religious Traditions not to keep silent when we see something wrong otherwise we will be as same as a voiceless devil ) !!..
The Board anninomusly kept silent and never utter any comment , concluded briefly as saying :
( Now the session is over , go back to your school, the verdict will be mailed to you later on .
Not long the letter came, the contents read as follows :
( As long as you have no idea about Civil Service Laws we just issue you a letter of reprimand ) !!..
I approached a lawyer meaning to understand this verdict of reprimand ) !!..
He says , ( For six months your right of promotion will be denied ) !!..
I thighed in relief :
( Is that all, OK ) !!..
By the way the events of this story took place in the seventies of last century during which i was newly appointed as intermediate School teacher !!..
