At a university premises , midday , summer time , the weather is hot as hell, cafés , recreation centres , swimming pool, green areas surronded by trees , all these facilities were fully occupied while classes were empty and motionless .
I approached a player leaning down , clinging firmly a stick , aiming its nose to a ball meaning to push it masterfully into the appropriate hole of pilliard green table .
He abandoned for a while any attempt to go a head with the idea of fullfiilling his promise to get the ball in it’s final destination.
Without giving any explanation or any interpretation to disturbing the atmosphere of his thoughts and concentration , I anticipated that my mission is obvious , the microphone I hold and the cameraman accompanying me as my shadow.
Do you mind if the conversation could be conducted in English or do like it in Arabic or you prefer a kind of translation when the necessity arises?!
I will be frank to confess that Iam a finalist at the faculty of Arts , my command of English Language is unsatisfactory, Iam ashamed of this stigma but can do nothing to set things right .
Why you are helpless and so gloomy and desperate?!
Mastering language is not just listening to a teacher lecturing but the library plays a crucial part in this regard ، so when reading is alleviated to scale of a hobby, here success is guaranteed at all levels.
Moreover the libraries at higher education nowadays are no longer given any care besides the contents Which are mostly out of date in addition to the fact that the teachers themselves resort to give private lessons to their students urgiing them only to mind the notes devised to meet the students desire and wishes for crossing the exam which is solely constitute the horror of the future.
Also drying up of the boarding houses and the poor means of transportation especially for those who live at remote area all combined to reduce the time allocated for study to the minimum and of course no room accordingly to free reading or to creation of any kind.
I paid the Pilliard player a good farewell and left him in the hope that the sun of universities in our country will shine a new .
